University, Virginia Beach, VA, a fully-accredited graduate
institution, is now offering a Ph.D. in communication studies
(including the possibility of a minor in Christian missions) via
distance education, delivering syllabi over the Web and using
Eudora for professor-student exchanges. The in-person, on-site
residency requirements are met by short summer visits to the university
campus.

New Jersey Institute of Technology-Online
(NJIT)
NJIT's Division of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) offers quality
educational courses of
study without committing to a full-time degree program. Study is focused on
students gaining the knowledge and skills necessary in employable professions via elearning and/or from classrooms.
University
On-Line Inc. Based out of Ohio, they are on-line publishers
which offer courses, on a contract basis, to business and industry,
and in conjunction with other schools. Calvert School, for instance,
uses them to offer home study courses. They don't carry any accreditation
themselves, but rely on the accreditation of their participating
institutions.
The
University of Phoenix is another well respected pioneer and
innovator in on-line distance learning courses. They also offer
traditional courses at their campus locations, as well as an MBA
course on-line.

Network Academy (GNA) is an attempt to create a virtual global
