There are numerous resources for K-12 educators on the Web! Check out some of the sites listed below, and keep coming back.

Schools on-line

  • Vose Elementary School in Oregon is a definite MUST SEE site on the Web. They include links to a large number of other K-12 resources, including state and federal education sites, NCREL sites, and links to many other schools worldwide which have Web sites.
  • The School District of Philadelphia gives a great example of what a local school system can do. Has examples of local school home pages, and some good links to other local resources.

  • CyberCamp Farallon's Cyber Camp. Links and advice for teachers and kids. A site with high interest level for both children and their teachers. Very well done. A must visit.
  • The UK Education Web Pages The UK Education Web Pages (EduWeb) are part of the Internet For Learning (IFL) service provided by RM . The UK Education Web Pages provides areas for UK schools, colleges, LEAs and other education groups to store their own World Wide Web pages.
  • Check out ChildU, based out of Ft. Lauderdale Florida, this new innovative K-6 curriculum is delivered entirely over the Internet.  Their programs cover math, language arts, science, social studies, art, music, technology and life skills.  Their programs are used by Home Schoolers, for tutoring and enriching students, and by Schools as a classroom supplement.

  • How Other Schools are Using the Internet Many quality links to Educator's Guides to LISTSERV's, Telnet, FTP, Infusion Ideas, Usenet Newsgroups, and E-mail lists.
  • Middletown Education Information Resource.A privately funded service dedicated to the students of Middletown Township, New Jersey. In addition to detailed information about the school system, there are links to a calendar of events, the various township programs and the park system.
  • Scholastic Internet Center. This is Scholastic Magazine's on-line and interactive publishing center and store. It's a very worthwhile site.
  • AT&T's Learning Network. Links to which services are available at no charge to some of AT&T's newest services and education support being offered to every school in the United States.
  • Hewlett Packard has developed an e-mail mentoring program between professionals and children through an external node which they support. Their home page has great links to other education resources, including the University of Illinois, and gives you the opportunity to volunteer to become a mentor.
  • Wentworth Worldwide Media's Classroom Connect offers lesson plans, pointers to libraries and museums, and other resource aids.
